Being a preteen can be a confusing time because children are growing up and going through lots of changes, not only personally and physically but the things that surround them seem to change as well.

I don't have a tween just yet, but I was a 5th and 6th grade teacher for five years and I can say with certainty that kids this age definitely go through many changes and this is a book that any tween {that loves to read} could get into.

This Chicken Soup for the Soul book is definitely something that all moms should read, regardless if you are a new mom or already have several kids.  While I was pregnant with my son one of my friend's got me a similar version of Chicken Soup for the Soul: New Moms and I just loved it.  This new version was none the different; I was really into it.  All the stories are relatable because let's face it all moms go through similar situations when dealing with a baby for the first time.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Grieving and Recovery Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

Up to this day, I have always enjoyed reading the Chicken Soup for the Soul books.  I find the inspirational stories easy to follow and most importantly I can always relate to them.

This time around I've had the chance to read some of the stories from Chicken Soup for the Soul: Grieving and Recovery.  I for one, happen to be the type of person that still to this date finds it extremely difficult to deal with the themes of loss and death {I've only has two close losses and they happened when I was young, so to speak} Sometimes I feel that I still haven't been able to accept that death is a part of life and right now wouldn't have the slightest idea how I would react if God forbid I loss someone close to me. But, reading these stories has helped me find out how other people grieve the loss of their loved ones and what they've done to be able to continue on with their lives.  All in all the stories have helped me see that everyone inevitably has to go through the grieving & recovery process and it is possible to continue on with your life in a way that you don't have to forget your loved ones even though they might not be physically with you.

Shaping the New You {Chicken Soup for the Soul}: Book Review & Giveaway

I just can't get enough of the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series!

Shaping the New You offers 101 stories about dieting, fitness and finding what works for you.  The foreword was written by Richard Simmons, who we all know from Sweatin' to the Oldies.  In it I learned about Richard's life and how he opened up his club Slimmons and all the great things he's done to help people overcome their weight issues.

As is expected from any Chicken Soup for the Soul book the stories really encourage and motivate you to get up and do something good for your body.  Often we associate losing weight and getting in shape with just wanting to look good on the outside, but the truth is that it can help you have a better quality of life.  Before going to bed I like to read a story or two to keep me motivated in taking baby steps toward a healthy lifestyle.  Who doesn't want to have a better quality of life?  I know I do!
