Chicken Soup: Christmas Magic-Review & Giveaway

I left on vacation back on December 16th and didn't come back until January 4th, so I was pleasantly surprised to come back home to find Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas Magic on my doorstep.

Who doesn't know about the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series!  The latest book out in the series has 101 stories related to Christmas and the holidays that will just warm your heart, lift your spirits and bring a smile to your face.  The cutest thing about the book is that the foreward is written by Santa and the cover page has a space for an inscription.  Everyone in the family can enjoy the book!

The good thing about this book, like all Chicken Soup for the Soul books, is that you can just read each individual story in whatever order you want and whenever you want because they are not interdependent.

I like to read these stories before going to bed.  I slip into my p.j.'s, turn on the lamp and get under the covers.  I really think because the stories are so heartwarming that I sleep better after having read them.  I truly enjoyed reading the stories!

In this book, funny stories share a place with heartwarming anecdotes such as the one about Melanie Stiles’ younger daughter, who was disappointed that she wasn’t going to sing a solo in her school’s program after all. Her older sister, who was scheduled to perform a solo piano piece, gave up her spot so her “squirt” younger sister could sing. Together, like angels, they sang “Silent Night” and the older sister demonstrated the true spirit of Christmas giving. The book is also filled with stories about families having their best holidays ever when they focused on giving instead of receiving, such as Taryn Hutchinson’s story about giving up her “perfect coat” for Christmas so that a family that has fallen on hard times can receive gifts from her family.
