IGIGI: Beautiful Clothes for Curvy Women: Review & Giveaway

Like I've mentioned previosly, I'm always on the lookout for beautiful, stylish clothes. But it can sometimes be a bit difficult being a curvy momma.

I was happy to team up with IGIGI, and try out one of their beautifully limited items of clothing.
Igigi, is a fashion line made in San Francisco, CA and designed by Yuliya Raquel.  The best thing is that this line caters to women ranging from size 12-32.
One of my favorite items of clothing is a good little black dress, so I chose...
The Francesca dress in black in a size 12
I simply LOVE this dress!

I feel it's a timeless and seasonless piece.  I can wear it now or one year from now and it'll still look fabulous.  The dress can be worn for so many different occasions.  All you need to do is add the right shoes, purse, accesories and voila, it's a totally different dress.  This dress can also be worn off-the-shoulder, which makes it even more versatile.  I would so wear this for dinner and a movie with the hubby.

The material is soft on the skin and does not cling to the body.  I can wear it with or without shapewear because the dress alone hides all  of my tiny imperfections.  I'm 5'6", so I found the dress just a tad bit too long for my taste, but regardless it's fabulous.  I chose the dress in black, because I'm just obssesed with the color and because it makes you look slimmer.  But, the dress is also available in royal color and it just happens to be on sale!  Depending on one's budget, some might find this dress a bit pricey but the use that someone could get out of the dress will seriously outweigh the price.

I'll definitely be wearing this dress for my birthday, the holidays, date-night and many ocassions more!

The most versatile little black dress! Add a belt and this basic little black dress goes from casual to chic in an instant.

Dress Details {from the site}
  • On or off-shoulder neckline
  • Draped surplice bodice
  • Empire waist
  • 3/4 length sleeves
  • Just-below-the-knee flared skirt
  • Fully lined
  • Shoulder to Hem Length: 41"-44"
  • Material: Poly/Elastane
  • Care: Dry Clean only

Not sure about buying clothes online because you can never be sure how they'll look? Don't worry, IGIGI helps you choose!

I was worried about not being able to try on the dress before buying it, but IGIGI online has a fabulous online tool called the Shape Stylist Calculator that helps you find out what body type you are.  Then you can just choose the dresses that fit your specific body type.

If you're still looking for a great dress or accesories for the holidays with the family, a work party, an anniversary dinner or any occasion that you wish to feel like a million bucks then check out the whole IGIGI line over at http://www.igigi.com/, if not leave the page open on the hubby's computer so he knows what to get for you for Christmas :-)

Because I'm such an awesome model-NOT- here is another pic for your viewing pleasure.

Carmex® Moisture Plus™ ultra hydrating lip balm with Sheer Tints: Review and Giveaway

It's time for another Carmex review and giveaway!

For those of you who don't know, I'm a member of the Carmex Blog Squad-I even have a badge to prove it {check out the side bar} .

Carmex has been around for over 80 years.  If its been around that long then you know that the products have got to work.  I personally enjoy all Carmex products.

One of the products that I am very into right now is the Carmex Moisture Plus Hydrating Lip Balm with Sheer Tints- Sheer Pink Tint & Sheer Peach Tint.
Here's why I love Carmex® Moisture Plus™ ultra hydrating lip balm with Sheer Tints
  • The Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm w/ Sheer Tints are absolutely wonderful!
  • The product packaging is sleek and cool.
  • The lip balm twists up and when it appears it has a slanted shape.
  • The product glides on easily to the lips and is buttery. It keeps my lips hydrated, soft and moist, which is something we all need now that the temperatures are dropping.  But at the same time contains an SPF 15; it's like double protection for my lips.
  • The balm smells just like a Carmex product should smell :-)
  •  I love the tint in each of the lip balms-pink & peach.  It gives your lips a subtle hint of color, just enough to be able to wear it for any activity.  I can use to go to the gym without looking over the top, to run daily errands and this way add color to my face if I'm running short on time and can't do the make-up or if if I'm going out at night.
  • Becasue Carmex is a household name that's been around for years, I'm sure that you may have tried some of their other products, so you know these will most certainly not dissapoint.

 Carmex® Moisture Plus™ ultra hydrating lip balm with Sheer Tints include vitamin E, aloe butter, shea butter and avocado butter  and is ONLY sold exclusively at Walgreens or walgreens.com.

Caviahue Thermal Mud for AcquaEssentials

  I consider, that women should always take care of themselves and try to feel and look their best.  In order to do this, one of the things I like to do is take care of my skin, especially on my face.  Now that I'm about to hit the BIG 30 I am just statring to notice tiny changes in my face.  Since I'm not going to recurr to injections, I like to know that I have good, quality products at hand to help combat the signs of aging in a graceful way.

Several weeks ago I was introduced to some samples from AcquaEssentials.  Amongst them my husband and I tried the Caviahue Thermal Mud , Caviahue Anti Wrinkle Cream Samples, Caviahue Nourishing-Moisturizing Cream, Mondariz Hydro-Woman Cream and the  Mondariz Hydro-Man Cream.

Ultimately I chose to review the Caviahue Thermal Mud (Fango Termal Activado).  The product arrived in a very bright and colorful box-isn't the flower detail cute- and the shipping was very speedy.

Inside the box was a 10.58 oz product-which is quite a lot if you ask me- along with an orange sponge and instructions.
As you can see the product looks true to its name-it looks like a grayish mud, is smooth and cool to the touch and has a herby smell.

Before applying the the Cavihue Thermal Mud, make sure that your face is completely clean.  Also, it's recommended that you put it on when you are the most rested and have some time to yourself.  I use the product in the morning while my son is having his morning bottle and watching Super Readers.

Make sure to smooth a light layer all over your face and neck.  I leave it on for approximately 10-12  minutes.  As soon as you put on the mud you get a cool, refreshing sensation.  After a little while, you can feel the mud dry up and as it dries up you feel your face tighten up. Make sure not to leave the mask on for more than 15 minutes because if not it'll be a bit difficult to take off.

Once you rinse everything off your face feels refreshed, a bit smoother and something tells me that if you keep using it twice a week for several weeks you will be able to see more dramatic results.

Cavihue Thermal Mud is definitely a product that can help any woman feel and look her best.  Because it is an exclusive spa product it goes for more than your regular drugstore brand product.  This is most certainly something that you will treasure having in your beauty arsenal., I know I do!

AcquaEssentials is offering free samples for those who are new to the products:
Here's what you get:
•1 Caviahue Thermal Mud Sample (one application)

•3 Caviahue Anti Wrinkle Cream Samples (three applications)

•3 Caviahue Nourishing-Moisturizing Cream Samples (three applications)

•3 Mondariz Hydro-Woman Cream Samples (three applications)

•3 Mondariz Hydro-Man Cream Samples (three applications)

All you do is pay $5.84 for S&H!

So Easy Toddler Food Cookbook: Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

As of lately my 20 month old toddler has become a little bit of a picky eater. Of course, I worry about him not receiving enough nutrients.  Like any parent, I want to make sure that he develops healthy eating habits.  That's why I jumped at the chance to review So Easy Toddler Food: Survival Tips & Simple Recipes for the Toddler Years.

The book is a simple read and has beautiful colored illustrations.  My son actually thought it was one of his books, so he sat down with it to look at the pictures.  The recipe section is divided by colors, so it's easy to find the recipes in each category.  Each recipe, besides including the ingredients and directions, also includes the nutrition facts and it tells you how many toddler or adult servings you get per recipe.

Here's the recipe for Macaroni with Ham and Peas.

This is what my Macaroni with Ham and Peas looked like!  Before this, I had never made my own cheese sauce, but it was extremely easy.  The end result was so good!  One of the other recipes that I've tried was the Tuna Casserole which was also a big hit.

I really enjoy following the recipes from the book because, besides being easy to follow, it has brought more variety to our meals.  The dishes are great for both the kids and the adults.

What you'll find in the book:
  • Tips for Developing Healthy Eating Habits
  • How to Convert Picky Eaters
  • Cooking
  • Recipes ( 36 recipes total)
    • Breakfast==> Best Ever Granola
    • Lunches==> Lunchmeat Roll Ups
    • Dinners==>Quesadilla
    • Salads==> Sweet Tomato Salad
    • Sides==> Broccoli & Rice Casserole
    • Soups==> Cream of Asparagus Soup
    • Desserts==> Banana Bread

It's Family Game Time:Family Talk-Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

Sponsored by Tomoson.com

My husband and I love talking with eachother and with our young one, although he only answers back in baby giberish. I think it's important for families to create good communication channels. Nowadays with so many  modern day gadgets it's easy to fall prey to them and get absorbed and stop paying attention to those around you.

That why I really enjoyed reviewing Family Talk!  This game will definitely get the family talking and you might just find out little details that you probably never would've thought of asking about.

Basically, the game consists of a deck of 100 colorful, nicely, laminated question cards connected by a ring.  This game was created by a mom/occupational therapist and was voted the Conversation Game of the Year in 2009 by Creative Child Magazine.
I like the game because you can take it with you anywhere and there are questions for everyone in the family.  Family Talk is a great tool for starting up family conversations.  This game is ideal for when the family is sitting down having dinner or when you're out on a long drive.   This game will definitely encourage the family to talk more because everyone gets to share a little bit about themselves.  I definitely plan on sharing this game when I go visit my family because I honestly believe there are so many things, that at my 29 years of age, I still don't know about my parents.  Everyone, let's get to talking!
Family Talk is a great travel game and would make for a neat holiday gift or stocking stuffer!
Family Talk is brought to you by Around the Table Games and they have a wide variety of conversational games for everyone in the family.

If you wish to BUY any of the Around the Table conversational games, then  head on over to their SITE.
At the check out make sure to use the coupon code THANKYOU so you can get a 20% discount on your purchase!

Auntie Anne's At-Home Baking Kit

 I like to bake but don't get to do it from scratch, so I was excited to receive an Auntie Anne’s Baking Kit.
{Don't let the image fool you because there are many RECIPES that you can make with this baking kit.  For example: monkey bread, apple dumplings, dessert pizza and many more }

{What you get in the kit: dough mix, dry yeast, baking powder, salt, cinammon sugar }

My wrapped dough ball resting in a warm place so it could rise.  I didn't have cooking spray so I used butter instead, a little bit too much I would say.

Since I'm relatively new to baking I decided to make good ol' fashion pretzels! I did everything by myself and found it to be quite fun. The whole process was a bit messy, but the end product was tasty.

I made eight (8) pretzels total, although I could've made ten (10) if I had used less dough.  I made one (1) salty pretzel and the rest were coated with a litle coat of melted butter and loads of cinammon sugar.

Mine didn't turn out too pretty, but they tasted great. I ate one, my son ate a tiny piece and my husband took the rest to school with him so he and his learning team could snack on them.
I would definitely purchase this kit for a special ocassion like a birthday party or get together, only that next time I would bake monkey bread instead!

What recipe would you be interested in making?

Face Candy Couture Eyeshadows: Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

I don't normally post about make-up, but I do love playing around with make-up, whenever my son gives me the chance of course !  So I was really giddy at the idea of reviewing some mineral makeup from Face Candy Couture.

{Here's what I received: six (6) three(3) gram jars of mineral eyeshadow and 3 little sample bags}

{From left to right: Pinky Star, Lavender Fields & Damask Grey-this is without using any eye primer}

{From left to right: Golden Moon, Pumpkin &; Dew- A Touch of Autumn Collection- this is without using eye primer}

I tend to be very picky with the make-up I buy nowadays and mostly stick to one certain brand.  But, I loved all six (6) of the Face Candy Couture eyeshadows I received!

You can use the make-up as shadows either dry{for a subtle look} or wet {for a more dramatic look}.

 You can also use it as a lipgloss; all you have to do is wet a lip brush, get some product on it and dab on your lips.

 I used the mineral makeup as eyeshadows and they  were very pigmented, so I didn't have to pack on a lot of product to make the colors pop.  The product goes on the brush easily, doesn't have a lot of fall out when you apply it and it's easy to blend.

The jars in which the shadows come are clear and come with a cute label on the top and an ingredient list on the bottom.  Each jar has a sifter so you can easily control the amount of product that you need, just make sure to store them in an upright postion.

Face Candy Couture mineral eyeshadows would make for a great stocking stuffer for both make-up lovin' teenagers and adults.

For the price of $4.99 you can certainly get several jars {Product comes in a clear 5 gram jar with sifter and with approx. 1.2 grams of product }without breaking the bank.

Check out the Face Candy Couture  for more eyeshadow color options and great holiday specials!

{Here's a fall/winter look I did with the second set shadows}

{Ignore my crazy looking bangs}

Bon Ami: For Healthy, Green, Non-Toxic Cleaning

If you're like me and have a young child who's always making a mess and running around the house, then you know how important it is to keep a clean house and how often you find yourself cleaning.  When doing the cleaning, I don't like my son to be exposed to harsh chemicals, so I was excited to get a chance to review Bon Ami cleaning products.
Bon Ami is an American all natural cleaning brand.  Bon Ami started out in 1886 with just one (1) product and has expanded their line to include products such as Dish Soap, Liquid Cleaner and All Purpose Cleanser to their already well known Powder Cleanser.  All Bon-Ami products are  biodegradable, non-toxic and hypo-allergenic.  Even the containers are made from 100% post-consumer plastic.

I received the Dish Soap in the Free & Clear version that has no added scent.  I'm currently using the product and have found it to be very effective at cleaning the dishes and leaving them squeeky clean.  I was especially impressed on how well it did at cutting off the grease on my pots and pans.  I also like that the product doesn't make a lot of suds, which means that I can rinse everything off without using as much water.
PRICE: $3.99 for a 25 oz bottle

The Powder Cleanser was the product that started it all and it continues to impress.  I like using to get the heavy, sticky grime off the pots and to clean the stove.  Because the ingredients are all natural the powder is very gentle, but effective on the stove, which means that I don't have to worry about it getting scratched.

PRICE:  $7.74 for a 6 pack (14oz each)  Basically, it's $1.29 for each one

I've been using the Liquid Cleanser, in the Free& Clear version, to clean the bathroom sink, tub, and refrigerator door.  My tub was resurfaced before we moved in so we can only use non-abrasive products so the Liquid Cleanser is perfect for it.  Like the other products in the line, it's gentle but helps get all the soap scum out.

PRICE: $3.59 for a 25 oz bottle

AboutOne Review

Imagine, how much easier life would be if you could have all of your important household information stored and organized in one place.
AboutOne is an online service that allows you to get organized by storing your  family household information online knowing that it's being protected with bank-level security.

Basically, AboutOne digitally manages and organizes all of the documents and information that one would need to run their household.   With AboutOne you can create online family newsletters, digital scrapbooks, photo albums, keep track of immunization and health history, among other things.

Afterward you can take the stored information and generate ready-made- fact sheets.  The other neat thing is that you can organize the information of your choice into a college application or an online health record.

The system is easy to use and the team over at AboutOne is more than happy to answer any questions or doubts you may have.
