Now that we are in full-on fall with winter right around the corner my skin tends to get dry and a bit flaky.  During this time of year my regular skincare routine just doesn't cut it. Luckily,  the great people over at Carmex sent me a skincare package to help me get through the cold temperatures.

The Carmex Healing Lotion can be used everyday, has a lovely smell and absorbs quickly when rubbed onto skin.  I've been using the lotion after my nightly shower.  I rub it all over my body and I instantly feel the added moisture. I especially like it because the next morning I still feel my skin moisturized despite the heater being turned on.

If you feel you need a little bit more TLC on certain parts of your body then that's where Carmex Healing Cream would come in!  This cream is thicker than the lotion, so you won't need too much product to start feeling a difference in your skin.  I use this cream on my hands, feet and elbows before I start out my day.  It really helps me look my best, because there is nothing more uncomfortable than exposing dry, cracked hands and feet to the world. 

I love both products from the Carmex skin care line! They really do help heal, soothe and moisturize your dry skin , especially hands, elbows and feet. The product absorbs quickly and has a great scent that I would compare to a light cherry and vanilla like smell.  The prices are great on the pocket.  I love that both the Carmex Healing Lotion & Carmex Healing Cream come in a travel size so it's convenient to carry them around with you.  I always carry mine in my son's diaper backpack. Either one of these products would make for a unique stocking stuffer.

Beautiful Heels

Spring is here; with its warm weather it begs you to expose your feet by wearing your most beautiful sandals.  Luckily, I received a most necessary product to ensure that my heels look their best!

I've been using Exuviance Heels Repair for several weeks and my heels have never looked better.  I find that I have been able to cut down on the number of pedicures that I give myself because my heels stay looking softer and moisturized much longer.  I only use the products 3 times a week and I find that it's more than enough to keep my heels looking spectacularly smooth

The jar includes 3.4 oz of product, which I find will last for several months depending on how much of product one uses on a regular basis, although a little bit of the product goes a long way.  This is definitely a product that I would purchase once I run out!

I'm a big fan of beauty products, so here's one I'd like to share you:

Monave Lip Glaze

A couple days back I received a Monave Lip Glaze.  The truth is I can be a bit of a brand snob when it comes to certain products, so I wasn't sure if I was going to be totally into this product.  I tried it on immediately and was surprised by how much I liked it. 

I received the Sheer Monave Lip Glaze in Honey Glaze {#506}.   This is a non-sticky, all-natural lip product that adds a just a hint of shine and some sheer mauve color, which is great for a great pick me up, running errands or going to the gym.  It gives you a sort of an effortless, laid back look. It comes in a standard lip gloss type container with a sponge tip stick applicator.  Monave Lip Glazes are made free of animal by products and uses only pigments that are 100% naturally derived minerals.

All in all I like the product very much, but am a little weary of the price {$13.00}.  The truth of the matter is that all natural products tend to be  higher priced then products that are not.

Smoother Looking Lips

I got to try out a full size 2.7 oz bottle of the exfoliater.

This exfoliater helps buff away dry skin and imperfections, which is good to have in your skin regime.  I use it once a week to ensure that I'm getting rid of all the unwanted dead skin cells that can accumulate.  It has apricot kernels and an oil derived from the pomegranate.  The first ensures a gentle exfoliation and the second adds much needed antioxidants. 

I love how the product smells of orange and leaves my skin feeling refreshed smooth and refreshed.  Above all, I enjoy knowing that no harmful chemicals are penetrating my skin.

The packaging is cute and simple, but the most important part of it appears in the back: the ingredient list.  Everything is listed in big, bright letters and there's none of the words fragrance, key or active ingredients.

Not all products work equally on all skin types; for countless people out  there this product might be a must-have beauty product.
 reviThe first time I used it I made sure to follow the instructions.  I got in the shower, turned on the water and waited for a while for my face to absorb the steam so it would be moist.  After applying the product- which is very watered down- I applied the product all over my face -it was gentle- and started to massage all over my face, but the product took awhile to start exfoliating.  After having let the product work, there wasn't very much dead skin peeling off and after I rinsed my face I didn't notice that much of a difference.  I've used the product on 3 different occasions and it's always the same; never better or worse.

Katy Perry OPI Collection

For all of you nail polish junkies out there I have great news: at last the Katy Perry OPI Collection is in stores!  Ever since I eyed the collection in a magazine back in December I've been desperately waiting for its arrival.  I don't how many times I went to Ulta this month of January and asked the sales girls about the collection.

Today, I dropped by CVS and decided to walk to ULTA afterward.  Low and behold, what did I spy in the center of the store, but the Katy Perry OPI Collection. 

My favorite color out of the whole collection is Shatter.

 Shatter is a deep, matte black that when you apply it over already dry nail polish has a shattered or crackled texture.

Luckily, my nails were already painted so I went on and applied one coat of Shatter.

When you apply the Shatter nail polish it goes on like any other polish would, but it sorta' starts to shrink up until you end up with the shattered effect.  Afterward, I applied clear top coat {not seen here}and it just helped amp up the color.

I love the look of black nail polish, but sometimes it can be a bit too harsh. So by combining the color of your preference along with OPI Shatter your nails still get that edgy look, but with a pop of color.

Caviahue Thermal Mud for AcquaEssentials

  I consider, that women should always take care of themselves and try to feel and look their best.  In order to do this, one of the things I like to do is take care of my skin, especially on my face.  Now that I'm about to hit the BIG 30 I am just statring to notice tiny changes in my face.  Since I'm not going to recurr to injections, I like to know that I have good, quality products at hand to help combat the signs of aging in a graceful way.

Several weeks ago I was introduced to some samples from AcquaEssentials.  Amongst them my husband and I tried the Caviahue Thermal Mud , Caviahue Anti Wrinkle Cream Samples, Caviahue Nourishing-Moisturizing Cream, Mondariz Hydro-Woman Cream and the  Mondariz Hydro-Man Cream.



Ultimately I chose to review the Caviahue Thermal Mud (Fango Termal Activado).  The product arrived in a very bright and colorful box-isn't the flower detail cute- and the shipping was very speedy.



Inside the box was a 10.58 oz product-which is quite a lot if you ask me- along with an orange sponge and instructions.

As you can see the product looks true to its name-it looks like a grayish mud, is smooth and cool to the touch and has a herby smell. 

Before applying the the Cavihue Thermal Mud, make sure that your face is completely clean.  Also, it's recommended that you put it on when you are the most rested and have some time to yourself.  I use the product in the morning while my son is having his morning bottle and watching Super Readers. 

Make sure to smooth a light layer all over your face and neck.  I leave it on for approximately 10-12  minutes.  As soon as you put on the mud you get a cool, refreshing sensation.  After a little while, you can feel the mud dry up and as it dries up you feel your face tighten up. Make sure not to leave the mask on for more than 15 minutes because if not it'll be a bit difficult to take off.

Once you rinse everything off your face feels refreshed, a bit smoother and something tells me that if you keep using it twice a week for several weeks you will be able to see more dramatic results.
