Lazy Sunday with Papa John's

I love to cook, but there are days when I simply don't want to get out the chopping board, knives, pots and the pans in order to create a family meal. As matter of fact, I sometimes feel like not really doing absolutely anything around the house.

Today happens to be one of those days! I have decided to officially name this day, Lazy Sunday.

In honor of Lazy Sunday, my son and I have dedicated ourselves to watching Bob the Builder and Barney the Dinosaur episodes along with reading and playing-with-blocks breaks.

To complete our Lazy Sunday, we decided to order some carry out pizza. Although I don't discriminate with pizza, I chose to order a 3 ingredient pie from Papa John's. The coolest thing was, that I didn't have to pick up the phone to order the pizza.

Papa John's has this amazingly efficient online order system. We have Papa John's in the Caribbean, but not the online system. I was thrilled to know, that now living in the U.S.A., this system would be active. In the past, when ordering pizza from any place, it was always a hassle to make a phone order because the communication between us (client) and the phone attendant would not be clear, which would result in errors in the order. With this online order system, there was no mistake.

Not only did we get a yummy large pizza, but we avoided any mishaps in our order.

What we ordered: Large original crust pizza
1st Half: Bacon, Ham, Mushrooms
2nd Half: Grilled Chicken, Onions, Green Peppers

The best slider ever!

After having driven for what seemed a week but was really only two days my family and I arrived today to what will be our home for the next two years.   Our trek began yesterday morning (Sunday, July 18) and ended today in the evening ( Monday, July 19)

After settling into the hotel we went out for dinner.  We wanted something quick and not to expensive.  We went to a nearby mall looking for the food court but didn’t find anything appetizing.  As we exited the mall we spotted Red Robin.  I was exited to go in because I had never gone and had heard they had good hamburgers.

Here is what we had to eat:

Steak Sliders

Steak Sliders :   This is the first time that I have truly enjoyed eating a slider.  The meat was very tender and moist, the chipotle mayo gave it just the right complimentary burst of gentle spice and the onion rings were very thin and not overpowering.  The only downside was that I ordered the 2 slider meal instead of 3.  These sliders are DELICIOUS!!

Just-In-Quesadilla®

My mother-in-law ordered the Just-In-Quesadilla®

Crispy Chicken Tender Salad

My father-in-law ordered the Crispy Chicken Tender Salad

Seafood Galore

My family and I are visiting the hubby’s parents’ before we make our move to our new home.  Today we wanted to take advantage that my in-laws were off from work and do something fun as a family (July 5th,2010). We went up to Shelburne Farm and afterwards to dinner.

DSCF3548 If you are ever in the Downtown Burlington area (Vermont) and you are into seafood then you should definitely checkout Shanty On the Shore.  The food is excellent and it’s not too pricey.

DSCF3541Their menu offers a wide variety of locally, caught fresh seafood, local meat and wonderful sides.

DSCF3543  All dinners come with on order of spicy cole slaw and a warm roll with some Cabot butter.

My husband ordered a small lobster with a side of baked potato and sour cream.

I enjoyed a yummy, scrumptious crab cake dinner with a side of deliciously baked macaroni and cheese-best I’ve ever had. $16.99

DSCF3549Afterwards we went to get our son’s stroller from the car so we could go for a stroll.  Here’s the view of the seaport from the parking lot.

DSCF3554 The area also has a cool playground area for young ones.  My son has only been recently introduced to playgrounds but, he was wiped out after our afternoon/evening family time and dinner.
